Mentoring

Individual support for your business
CIBIP's mentoring scheme can provide a trained mentor to work with you one-to-one, giving individual support and guidance for you and your business.

What is mentoring?
‘Mentoring is a learning and developmental relationship between two people. It depends on essential human qualities such as commitment, authenticity, trust, integrity and honesty. It involves the skills of listening, questioning, challenge and support’
(‘Practical Mentoring’, Mentfor/East Mentoring Forum)

CIBIP mentors
A number of mentors with experience of the creative industries have been trained through CIBIP to enable them to develop skills to provide one-to-one mentoring or coaching support to creative businesses in the region. New mentors are currently being recruited.

How can mentoring help you and your business?
Mentoring addresses issues that are relevant to you personally and can be an excellent way to develop your business. CIBIP’s trained mentors can work with you one-to-one in a number of ways:

• To help you set and achieve goals for your business to help it grow
• To challenge you to achieve and succeed more than you would if left to your own devices
• To provide you with constructive and non-judgemental support
• To encourage you to set and achieve personal goals where appropriate

If you would like to be put in touch with a CIBIP mentor, please contact Edwina Simpson at Theatre Resource (tel: 01277-365626/email: edwina@theatre-resource.org.uk) or Anne Williamson at Screen East (tel:01603 776920 / email:a.williamson@screeneast.co.uk).

Train as a mentor

Would you like to become a mentor?

If you have experience of running and managing a business, preferably within the creative industries sector, and feel that you would like to help other businesses to grow and thrive, why not apply for one of the two day training courses we are running this autumn? The course is aimed at those with no previous coaching experience.

Day One    Theatre Resource
Chipping Ongar
Tuesday 25th September 2007

Day Two    Screen East
Norwich
Tuesday 23rd October 2007

The small fee is refundable on the completion of the course.
Courses are run by Pam Lawrence of the Business International Partnership Limited.

Between the two training days mentors are expected to undertake unpaid practice to help develop their skills. There will be a follow-up day in early 2008 on a date to be agreed.

Following training, CIBIP will support initial mentoring session/s with a financial contribution to cover expenses.

Further information and an application form are available to download from the links below, please contact Edwina or Anne as above for any other information.
